VRChat Yes/No Button

Found yourself stuck in a boring conversation? Is your neck hurting from nodding and going "mmhmm" over and over again?

Well say hello to your new best friend...

The Yes/No Button!

Watch Weebwulf's amazing advertisement here!

What is it?:

If you're a watcher of the Australian kids show "Bluey", you'll likely find this product rather familiar. First featured in S2:E1's "Dance Mode", this little keychain had the capability of playing 1 of 2 voice lines by pressing one of the big colourful buttons; either a loud and proud "YES", or a "NO".

This VRChat recreation replicates this mechanic through the use of 2 Blendshapes, 2 Contact Receivers, and 2 Audio Sources, allowing you or anyone to press the buttons, prompting the voice. The keychain even comes with a pre-made Physbone!

The purchase will give you access to a ReadMe file and a unitypackage including the prefab, the FBX, the texture, the audio clips, and everything else to get it set up!

Additional Help:

The setup is super easy, thanks to VRCFury!

You simply import the package into a Unity avatar project already setup with Poiyomi Shaders, VRCFury, and the Gesture Manager (optional), then drag the prefab into an empty spot in the Hierarchy, then onto one of your hand bones, tweak the position and rotation of it, and voila! Upon uploading or hitting Play, VRCFury should do the rest and add it to your avatar and your Expression Menu!

A guided tutorial video is available here which goes through each step of the process.

It's not mentioned in the tutorial video, but be careful where you put the button! The Contact Receivers can get triggered by the fingers on the hand you've put the button on. Try to place the button in a position where your fingers won't trigger the contacts when holding it or switching gestures. The Gesture Manager Emulator is a good way of testing this. (Additionally, if you know a way I can get around this, shoot me a message!)

The Bluey Bundle!

The Yes/No Button is part of my bundle of Bluey-inspired items! Below you can see links to each of them (Once I get around to making more...)

ToS:

You can:

  • Customise the model and texture in anyway you'd like.
  • Use the model for VRchat, NeosVR, CVR, 3D prints, or Youtube and Twitch.

You can't:

  • Resell, redistribute, or give away any of the files, even if you've heavily modified them.
  • Claim to be the owner of the product.

Planned updates:

  • Fixed contacts

Right now, there's a slight issue with the contacts of the button. They're looking for Finger colliders. That means any finger can touch them, but that also means that any finger can touch them. This includes the fingers on the hand that you've put the button onto. It isn't a huge issue - if you find that it's happening to you, just try moving the button a bit so it's out of the way. In the future, I'd love to find a way of fixing this. I tested what it'd be like to change the contacts to Finger L and Finger R, but that didn't seem to work. If anyone has advice on how this could be resolved, let me know!
