Wallet full of fragile, useless strips of paper? Interested in getting those grubby little paws on something of real value, but need some Bri'ish energy to help?

Stab the studs outta your buds with my newest asset...

The Brick Knife!

What is it?:

The Brick Knife is exactly what it sounds like - a knife made for stabbin' that makes people violently eject a handful of DREADO® branded studs from their freshly-made wounds! Made with a Contact Receiver, a Particle System and an Audio Source, this blade will audibally shower the floor in all the studs you could ever want!

The knife is pretty much a recreation of Babish's Chef Knife, and the DREADO® studs are heavily based off of LEGO's studs - primarily the ones featured in LEGO games.

The project uses pre-rendered textures of the DREADO® studs for better performance, so no actual 3D model of the stud is included in the purchase (unless I include it as a freebie in the future!)

The purchase will give you access to a unitypackage including a prefab, the FBX file of the knife, textures, materials, animations, animator, and audio files.

Additional Help:

The setup is super easy, thanks to VRCFury!

You simply import the package into a Unity avatar project already setup with VRCFury, then drag the prefab into an empty spot in the Hierarchy, then onto one of your hand bones, tweak the position and rotation of it (If you scale the prefab you'll also need to scale the Particle System), and voila! Upon uploading or hitting Play, VRCFury should do the rest and add it to your avatar and your Expression Menu!

A guided tutorial video is available here which goes through each step of the process. (The tutorial is for a different asset but the setup is pretty much identical)

Make sure you put the asset in a spot where the fingers won't trigger the Contact Receiver. Using the Gesture Manager Emulator is a good way of testing to see if this is an issue.

ToS:

You can:

  • Customise the model, texture, and particle system anyway you'd like.
  • Use the model for VRchat, NeosVR, CVR, 3D prints, or Youtube and Twitch.

You can't:

  • Resell, redistribute, or give away any of the files, even if you've heavily modified them.
  • Claim to be the owner of the product.

Features:

  • A knife that spews out small multi-coloured DREADO® studs and triggering a stabbing sound every time it makes contact with someone!
  • Everything's set up, you just need to use VRCFury to add it to your avatar!
  • Pre-made Particle System.
  • Will work for VRchat and probably any other uses you can think of.
  • Pre-made texture and Poiyomi Material.
  • An in-depth tutorial video on how to apply it to your avatar.

Planned updates:

  • Mirror visibility

As of now, the particles don't work in mirrors. The first unreleased version did, but that's because it used Mesh particles. Despite Mesh particles being the only ones viewable for Quest users, they're much more unoptimised than the Billboard particles I chose to use instead. As I've chosen to use Billboard particles, they're also not viewable in mirrors. I might update the knife in the future to add a Mesh particle variant or alter the particle to make it viewable in mirrors, but it's not too urgent. The knife still works wonderfully, in my opinion.
